Glass Closet, Secret Egg (2014 - 2015) is a series of images that dramatize the way human beings interact with the space that contains them, visually exploring the subtleties in gestures, dress, facial expressions that reveal meaningful insights into another culture or another state of mind. I mainly used the photographs that I have accumulated while working and traveling during the past year in different places, from Vietnam to the States. Through these photographs, I hope to immerse the viewers in an estranged feeling, almost like a dream sequence imbued with imagination and free association. The aesthetics I employ are layered in the geometries, shapes, forms and textures of the subjects and the surroundings. I want to provoke questions and stir up the web of consciousness that ties these images together. Personally, my motivation to create these images is an urge to grapple with visual meanings and their implications. While I want my works to relate with the viewers on some levels about the topics that I mentioned above, I want to leave enough room for them to create their own meaning within the folds of these photographs.
